Steel for the greenest chicken coop in the world

Aannemersbedrijf Teunissen specialises in residential, non-residential and agricultural construction. They have been relying on the expertise of PMC Staalbouw for many years. In the summer of 2019, we worked together on a special project for Kipster: the construction of two new poultry houses in the greenest chicken coop in the world.

The two coops, known as the ‘big coop’ and ‘the little sister’, contain 107 tonnes of steel: 62 tonnes for the big coop and 45 tonnes for the little sister. One challenge in this project was the unique shape of the poultry houses. PMC Staalbouw not only supplied and assembled the steel structures, but also the steel purlins and a custom-made platform for the air scrubber.
